GyeongJu city is the capital city of Silla Dynasty(57 B.C. ~ 935 A.D.) which was very prosperous country and the first country to unite entire Korea. Therefore there are many historical places in GyeongJu city. You can get there by taking KTX or Express Bus.
1. SeokGuRam (석굴암)
SeokGuRam is very very exotic to foreigners. If I list 7 wonders of Korea, I would list SeokGuRam as the first wonder. This is made of granite. People made Buddha with granite stone in 751 A.D. But you would not be able to believe that it was built in 751 A.D. It is so detailed.
2. BulGukSa Temple (불국사)
BulGukSa Temple is the most famous temple in Korea. There are two stone towers in the middle of BulGukSa Temple (SeokGaTap (석가탑) and DaBoTap (다보탑)) which are also the most famous and so called "most well made stone tower in Korea". Also, there are two famous stairways in BulGukSa Temple (ChungWuenGyo (청운교) and BaekWuenGyo(백운교)). Those stairways are meant as stairways to the world of Buddha.
You should see the details in BulGukSa Temple.
3. AnApJi Pond (안압지)
AnApJi Pond is not just an ordinary pond. This pond and nearby architectures are built right after uniting the entire Korea. Royal families had parties near AnApJi Pond. Pond and nearby architectures are very well in harmony. Most beautiful when you visit here right before sunset.
